Raja Ampat, Indonesia
The name "Raja Ampat" (which translates to "Four Kings") derives from the four major islands that make up the archipelago: Waigeo, Misool, Salawati, and Batanta. The seas around these islands are turquoise and are home to some of the most diverse marine life in the world, including more than 1,700 species of reef fish and over 600 types of hard coral.
Raja Ampat is a well-liked location for hiking, birdwatching, diving, and snorkeling. With numerous regional programs aimed at preserving the region's distinctive ecosystem, it is also a hub for marine conservation and environmentally friendly tourism.
